- Lewis and Clark- Be one of the explorers and tell the story from their perspective
- Historical event or topic- Groups of students tell their version of what happened making connections (weaving in the events bringing out the connections)
Science
- Inventions- Explain how inventions and discoveries are important to others, Simple machines, how have they changed the world?
- Animals- Tell the story from the butterfly’s point of view, Focus on descriptive words or anticipation, Informational story, follow the monarchs etc. How have animals adapted?
- Science Topic- Groups of students tell their version of what happened with a particular topic making connections (weaving in the events bringing out the connections)
Language Arts
- Language Arts Topic- Groups of students tell their version of what happened with a particular topic making connections (weaving in the events bringing out the connections)
- Authentic student writing- Students write stories and then illustrate or act out, Family tree stories (think about point of view of someone else), Take a character to court, students are judge, jury etc.
- Fiction- Change the setting, how would it be different today?, Compare and contrast fairy tales from various regions, Change an ending to a favorite tales, Bring a set of characters to life and act out the story
- Book Review -- Use this format for student's to create book reviews
- Phonics -- Sounds and alphabet letters. As a teacher you can create the show by adding the images, then let your students finish the show by narrating the sounds. This can even be a form of assessment.
Math
- Take a geometry walk and show and tell what you found
- Math is all around the town, really where? Split up in groups and find out
- Explain to others a concept like adding fractions using real life examples
- Act out math problems using various strategies
- How do we stay healthy? (Interview doctors, others)
- Story from a different point of view, inside the heart, the opinion of the bones why we all like the circulatory system (tell the story about all working together)
- Public service announcement about the importance of sleep, tell from the point of view of a sleepy driver, crabby sleepover breakfast, student in school. Embed science facts.
- Nutrition portion size from what we should have to most restaurants, calories have two groups one healthy nutrition other fast food junkies, junkies try to get everyone eat not healthy.
- Fitness- teach a sport
- History of a sport
- Sell the PE teacher on something new
- Create an Eye Toy ad for the couch potato
- There are artists everywhere, meet some of our local artists
- Meet the masters
- Our artist changed the world because..
- This is how graphics are created on the computer
- Field trips -- Take pictures during a field trip, import them into Photostory, have the children sequence them, write a storyboard to go with the show, have the children narrate. Once the show is finished, you can run it during Open House or for guests. Burn these to CDs at the end of the year for a collection of what was learned during the year.
- Introduction to our school -- Let students take pictures of people and places around the school. Import the pictures and let students narrate (from their written script), add some music and viola! you have an introduction to your school, ready to burn to a CD and hand out to a new member of the class.
- Family Interviews -- Have students interview a grandparent or other relative, then use pictures taken during the interview, or family photographs, to create a pictorial version of the interview.
- School Rules - At the beginning of the year take pictures of the students following class and school rules and use it to go over and review rules throughout the year.

- present new vocabulary using individual objects or by miming actions
- to practice dialogue work such as buying different items in a shop or asking for directions
- to give a description of your daily routine or local area for example
- to design a comic strip
- to make a record of a trip
- to put together a multimedia resource for your partner school
